Vivek Agnihotri's directorial, The Kashmir Files, earned Rs 141.25 crore in its ninth day of release. The film is now very close to Rs 150-crore mark.


Vivek Agnihotri's directorial, The Kashmir Files, has continued its onslaught at the box office. The film has broken all records ever since its release on March 11. After crossing Rs 100 crore in just seven days, The Kashmir Files is expected to cross the Rs 150-crore mark now. On Day 9, it minted Rs 24.80 crore, taking the total box office collection to Rs 141.25 crore. The Kashmir Files, which was released on March 11, is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus during the Kashmir insurgency in 1990. The film stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi.

The Kashmir Files has zoomed past the Rs 100 crore net at the box office. Now, it is racing towards the Rs 150-crore mark and should touch that mark before the end of the second weekend. On Day 9, the film earned Rs 24.80 crore, which is the highest single day collection till now. Hence, the total box office collection now stands at Rs 141.25 crore. Meanwhile, the film had an overall 70.72% Hindi Occupancy on Saturday, March 19, 2022. The Kashmir Files has a shot of touching Rs 175 crore by Monday.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#TheKashmirFiles is a ONE-HORSE RACE... Day 9 [Sat] is HIGHER than *all 8 days*... Trending like #Baahubali2 in *Weekend 2*... There's a *strong possibility* of hitting 28 cr - 30 cr today [Day 10]... [Week 2] Fri 19.15 cr, Sat 24.80 cr. Total: 141.25 cr. #India biz (sic)."
