The Border Security Force (BSF) shot down a drone from Pakistan and recovered 10.6kg of heroin close to the border village of Bharopal in Amritsar district early on Monday.


BSF’s Punjab Frontier tweeted: “BSF troops foiled every other smuggling try via Pak drone. Vigilant BSF troops fired on the drone coming from Pak and taken it down. Drone wearing 9 packets suspected to be heroin (10.670 kg) in a bag became recovered.”


A BSF professional stated that employees heard a humming sound of the drone and fired in the direction of it, bringing it down. A seek discovered the contraband became packed in 9 small packets hid in a plastic bag.
