 The Sensex is up 620 points to 55,505, while the Nifty is trading at 16,527.

On Monday, markets opened in the green, with the Sensex rising 620 points to 55,505. The Nifty begins the session at 16,527 points.

The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 632.13 points, or 1.17 percent, to 54,884.66 on Friday. Similarly, the NSE Nifty rose 182.30 points to 16,352.45, up 1.13 percent.

On Friday, Tech Mahindra led the Sensex pack with a 4.10 percent gain, followed by IndusInd Bank, Wipro, Bajaj Finance, M&M, Infosys, L&T, and Bajaj Finserv.

NTPC, Bharti Airtel, PowerGrid, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, Asian Paints, and Nestle, on the other hand, were the laggards on Friday, with shares falling as high as 2.43 percent.
