Mercedes-Benz is recalling over 1 million older cars around the world.
Between 2004 and 2015, models from the ML, GL (BR 164), and R-Class (BR 251) series were affected.
Mercedes-Benz announced on Saturday that it is recalling nearly a million older automobiles from around the world due to potential brake booster concerns.
It affects models from the ML, GL (BR 164), and R-Class (BR 251) series built between 2004 and 2015. In Germany, there are about 70,000 of them.
"We discovered that extensive corrosion in the joint region of the housing could impede the function of the brake booster in certain of those vehicles," Mercedes-Benz stated in a statement.
This could result in an increase in the brake pedal force needed to decelerate the vehicle and/or to a potentially increased stopping distance, it added.
Mercedes-Benz is starting the recall immediately.
